Bihar Tourism is the state’s official platform to showcase its heritage, destinations, and cultural experiences. I designed the website from the ground up transforming it into a responsive, accessible, and visually rich experience for both domestic and international travelers.

Background

Before this project, Bihar Tourism lacked a centralized, user-friendly digital platform. The challenge was to design a system that could handle extensive content, work flawlessly on mobile, and reflect the cultural richness of Bihar without overwhelming the user.

Competitor analysis

The hero image highlights Rajasthan’s iconic heritage with vibrant visuals. The text clearly points out key destinations, and a visible call-to-action invites users to explore. The layout naturally guides the eye from the image to the headline and button.

From this, I realized Bihar Tourism could benefit from immersive hero visuals to showcase its cultural heritage, historical sites, and pilgrimage circuits. Clear CTAs like ‘Explore Bihar’ or ‘Plan Your Trip’ would guide users immediately, and using vibrant, authentic photography could create a stronger emotional connection and reflect Bihar’s unique identity.

I analyzed leading state tourism websites to study their design, user experience, and content, identifying best practices to guide the redesign of Bihar Tourism.
